Traditionally for Betrothal gifts, the groom will send these gift items based on his dialect. In this modern days, some couple will send the gifts based on the bride’s family dialect. As long as both families agree, either set is fine.
On top of the items listed in the package, the groom needs to prepare the following items on the Guo Da Li Day.
1) 12 or 18 oranges
2) Pin Jin Money ( we will encourage the amount to be given to be agreed on prior to the Guo Da Li )
3) 2 bottles of alcohol
4) Cakes for the bride’s family to distribute to their relatives after the Guo Da Li ceremony.
