Pearl
loving brides-to-be can now rejoice, as wedding-day pearl options in Singapore
have just been taken up a notch. Japanโ€™s most influential manufacturer and
exporter of cultured pearls, Mikimoto, finally opened its flagship store at ION
Orchard this year on 4 March. This is the brandโ€™s third store in Singapore, in
addition to its other two boutiques located in Marina Bay Sands and
Centrepoint.

It
will be the first on local shores to carry a wide range of high-end jewellery
pieces from the brand, from classic timeless designs incorporating Akoya and
South Sea pearls, to more contemporary looks that use Multi-Coloured Black
South Sea pearls.

At
the grand opening of the Mikimoto ION Orchard, two one-of-a-kind pieces from
Japan were flown in to be showcased: the Rose Garden Necklace and the Flowing
Tide Necklace, both of which will only be on display for a limited period of
time. The Rose Garden Necklace consists of 17 pearls and diamonds totalling
101.6 carats, while the Flowing Tide Necklace is made out of 313 Akoya Pearls
and 49.69 carats of diamonds.

The
boutique boasts a luxurious interior space with a gallery-like feel, as well as
displays of various artworks and sleek furnishings that aptly remind of the
oceanโ€™s waves. In addition, a VIP room offers an intimate retail experience for
their customers.

Said
Mr Tomotsugu Ito, the Managing Director for Mikimoto Jewellery (Singapore):
โ€œThe introduction of a VIP room is also a first for us in Singapore. Featuring
an exquisite dรฉcor of silk panels flown in from Nishijin โ€“ Kyotoโ€™s famed
weaving district โ€“ and chairs from designer Italian furniture brand, Cassina,
the room enables us to provide a more personalised retail experience for our
patrons.โ€
